5.0 out of 5 stars How to make this bike into a $2000 bike experience for cheap, July 18, 2015

Ok first of all, it's sturdy and quiet and I put it together in 15 minutes.

Second, I was lusting after The $2000 Peloton bike ( with its live classes, cadence information, and everything else ) and so I made a couple modifications to this bike and used a couple apps and I think it's a really good alternative.

1) get this bike - $250

2) get the wahoo wireless RPM cadence tracker and mount it on the crank shaft. I did it with the little silicone holder it comes with, for attaching to your shoe I think, and some zip ties. No dealing with wires or anything. Just install it and pedal and it shows up on the free Wahoo app on your phone. In fact I like this better than a bike computer because using the app it automatically puts all the information into my fitness pal or Apple health or whatever. I got the RPM from Amazon for about $50.

3) get a heart rate monitor like the wahoo one or I have the mio fuse. It works with the free wahoo app, which... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made - and the perspiration is flowing, September 23, 2012

I spotted some spinning bikes at my gym - which made me curious. The gym "spinning" classes are at 6 AM and 12 noon. No way that is going to happen for me.

So - I bought this Sunny Spinning Bike on a lark - installed it in my basement - and cancelled my gym membership which I barely used anyway. I am making money on this deal!

I cannot compare this bike to any "spinner" bike that you would find at a gym - since I have zero experience there - but as someone who - during summer - rides my 1975 Motobecane road bike 10-15 miles on a daily basis while wearing flip flops - I can say this:

- Bike was packed quite well
- Bike was easy to assemble with just the tools provided
- All nuts and bolts etc were in four plastic bags labeled step 1 to 4 - so assembly was super easy
- I am 5' 7" and was able to find good seat and hand positions on this bike
- Resistance knob is very sensitive for me; a minor tweak will increase resistance... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent quality but needs some tweaking, February 7, 2013

I bought this thing for my wife who loves to spin. It's pretty simple to set up and is a fairly solid build. It spins smoothly although definitely not as quiet and smooth as the more expensive bikes I've tried. It's not noisy though, either. It's heavy enough to not move around while you're riding it and it's also really super easy to move (when you want to) thanks to the two littles wheels on the front base. My wife likes the heavier wheel on it as compared to some of the cheaper smaller bikes. As one other reviewer noted, the handlebars wiggle around a bit and, unfortunately for them, they didn't figure out that you can fix it by jamming a couple wood shims (from your local home improvement store) on both sides of the post up from the bottom of the neck. I did this and it's been totally fine ever since and much more solid than without. We ditched the pedals and just put SPD's on it so I can't tell you what the stock pedals are like; they're still in the plastic. The pedals going... Read more
